Weekly Police Report
During the week ending December 22, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to 204 incidents. Eighteen Criminal Code charges were laid for various offences including 3 charges for impaired operation. Three charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act. Twenty-three charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act for various traffic violations. Thirty motor vehicle collisions were also investigated with no serious injuries reported. The Brockville Police would like to remind people to ensure their vehicles are secured and valuables are removed. The Brockville Police will be conducting holiday R.I.D.E. programs. People are reminded to take advantage of a designated driver and not to drink and drive.

Weekly Police Report
During the week ending November 24, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service responded to 188 calls for service Twenty-eight Criminal Code charges were laid for various offences. Thirty-five charges were laid under The Highway Traffic Act for various traffic violations. Three charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act. Eighteen motor vehicle collisions were also investigated with no serious injuries reported. Police are still investigating complaints of thefts from unlocked motor vehicles. A 21 year old male has been arrested for breaking into vehicles in the north end of the city. Police are reminding everyone to lock your vehicles and do not leave parcels in plain view in the vehicle. Place your parcels in the trunk.

Weekly Police Report
During the week ending November 17, 2008, members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 217 incidents. Twenty-seven Criminal Code charges were laid for various offences. Twenty-six Highway Traffic Act charges were also laid during this time period. On November 14, 2008 police focused on traffic enforcement in the area of Blockhouse Island and the enforcement will continue. This being as a result of several complaints received as to the manner in which people are operating their vehicles. As a result of this enforcement, 4 motorists were charged with unnecessary noise e.g. squeeling tires and noisy mufflers. Also, 3 people were charged with loitering under the Trespas to Property Act. Bullying Awareness Week will take place November 16 - 22, 2008. This years theme will be "Stand Up To Bullying". The Brockville Police Service will be attending numerous schools to present on this subject and cyber safety. The public is welcome to attend St. Francis School, 74 Church Street, Brockville on Thursday, November 20th at 6:30 p.m. Sgt. Doug Locke, Community Safety Officer and Tom Reil, Techinical Services Co-Ordinator will be presenting. Bullying stops in less than 10 seconds most of the time when peers intervene on behalf of the victim. Most of the bullying does not occur on the playground but online everyday.

Brockville Police are presently investigating numerous frauds involving a male selling advertising to local businesses. Several businesses have been approached by a male offering to place advertising on placemats. The placemats were to be displayed at various branches of The Royal Canadian Legion and/or area restaurants. The male is charging in the area of $200. - $300. per advertisement. This advertising was never endorsed by the Legion or restaurants and services sold were not rendered. Police encourage the public to confirm with businesses where advertisements are to be posted prior to purchasing any advertising. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.

During the week ending November 10, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 212 incidents. Sixteen Criminal Code charges were laid during this time period. Thirty charges were laid for various Highway Traffic Act violations. Nine charges were laid unnder the Liquor Licence Act. Officers investigated 12 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. On November 8th at 2:45 a.m. officer attended to an alarm call at Scott's Discount, 24 King Street West. Unknown person(s) attempted to force open the rear receiving door. No entry was gained. On November 9th at 10:45 p.m. attended to an alarm at Brockberry Café. The glass in the door on the west side of the building was broken. A quantity of liquor was taken. Investigation is continuing into the above 2 incidents.

Press Release
The Brockville Police are requesting the public’s assistance in investigating an assault which took place at McDonald’s Restaurant on Parkedale Avenue in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 5, 2008. At approximately 3:30 a.m. an unidentified male became involved in an argument in the parking lot of McDonalds. The suspect then reportedly struck one of the victims with a beer bottle and grabbed the other victim, knocked him to the ground and struck him repeatedly in the face. Both victims sufferred serious but non-life threatening injuries and were taken to hospital. One victim suffered a broken nose and the other damage to his eye which required several stitches. Investigators have learned that prior to the occurrence at McDonalds the suspect was driven to Brockville from a bar in the Town of Prescott and after the occurrence was dropped off in downtown Brockville. In the attached photos are three males who the Brockville Police would like to identify and speak to in relation to this investigation. The suspect is described as being male, white, approximately 25 years of age, 6’1” to 6’3”, approximately 200 lbs, short blonde hair, and has tattoos on both forearms. He was reported to be wearing small silver earrings. During the week ending October 27, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to 213 calls for service. Twenty-six Criminal Code charges were laid during this time period. Twenty-three charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act for various traffic violations. Two charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act. On October 26, 2008 at approximately 6:30 p.m. a wheelchair was taken from in front of 1315 Kensington Parkway. The wheelchair is a "harrow chair" model 3G storm series, silver with a black seat, electric powered. The chair is new and is valued at $10,000.00. If anyone has information about the whereabouts of the electric wheelchair you are asked to call Constable Tom Nappo at Brockville Police, 613-342-017. Thefts from motor vehicles are still occurring in different areas of the City of Brockville. Police remind the public to lock their vehicles and to remove valuables from the vehicles.

This Saturday, October 18, 2008, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. twenty-four police students from St. Lawrence College will take part in this year’s seatbelt challenge. It is estimated that for every 1% increase in seatbelt use, 5 lives are saved in Ontario every year. Although overall seatbelt use in Ontario is 93.4%, surveys show that seatbelt use varies across the province and in some areas is as low as 74%. In the past Brockville has reached the compliance goal for the province. Chief John Manoll urges parents and caregivers to properly secure all children in car seats saying “make sure you take the time to buckle up and secure all occupants”. Please note drivers and passengers, 16 years of age an older, convicted of failing to use or improperly using a seatbelt are subject to a $110 fine, of which $20 is allocated to Victim Fine Surcharge Fund. Drivers would also have two demerit points applied to their driver record for failing to use, or improperly using, a seatbelt or failing to ensure a passenger under the age of 16 is property restrained.

During the week ending September 29, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to 211 calls for service. Twenty-two Criminal Code charges were laid for various offences. Twenty-one charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act. Seven charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act. Fifteen motor vehicle collisions were investigated with no serious injuries reported. The Brockville Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the person responsible in a road rage incident on North Augusta Road at the 401 overpass at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Sunday, September 28th and a second incident at 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, September 28th at Giant Tiger parking lot at Park Street and Central Avenue where the same victim was assaulted by the responsible person. The person of interest is described as; male, 5'7" in height, slim build, protruding white teeth (buck teeth), grey or ash-blonde hair, in his early 20's, wearing a white t-shirt. He was driving a white Grand Am type vehicle, 4-door, slightly tinted windows with a partial plate of ay 066, Ontario issue. Weekly Police Report
During the week endng September 15, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 212 incidents. Twenty-nine Criminal Code charges were laid during this time period. Six Liquor Licence Act charges, and fourteen Highway Traffic Act charges were also laid. Officers investigated 11 motor vehicle collisions including the collision that occurred on Blockhouse Island on September 11th, where 4 people were thrown into the St. Lawrence River. On September 8th at 2:45 p.m. a 2002 red Arctic Cat ATV, licence TZ 210 was stolen from the rear of a pickup truck while parked at a residence on Cedar Street.

Early Wednesday morning, September 3, 2008 the Brockville Police Service responded to a suspicious person call in the area of Brookview Crescent and Ferguson Drive. As a result, two young persons were arrested for possession of stolen property and trespass by night. Other charges are pending further investigation. At the time, officers observed multiple vehicles had been entered and rifled through. A quantity of property was located in their possession and police are looking for victims to help identify where the property came from. Press Release
On Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 01:40 a.m. a 9-1-1 telephone call was received at the Brockville Police Service with regards to an assault that took place at 100 John Street and the female victim had left the residence. The accused male person was left in the residence with a 2 year old child. Officers attended and had a brief conversation with the accused at the door of the residence where he retreated back into the residence locking the door. Several attempts were made to contact him by telephone to no avail. Brockville Police Service Containment Team were called in as we had a possible hostage standoff and set up a perimeter around the scene. O.P.P. Tactical and Rescue Unit (TRU) were called and arrived on the scene. At approximately 09:45 hours the accused male person, Clifford Lane, 36 years old, was arrested and charged with utter threats and assault without incident. The 2 year old child was unharmed and is in the care of her mother. Investigation is continuing.

During the week ending August 11, 2008 the Brockville Police Service responded to 250 calls for service. Thirty-three Criminal Code charges were laid. Twenty-six charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act for various traffic violations. Sixteen charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act. Thefts from vehicles continued to be a problem throughout this week. Motorists are asked to help solve this problem by locking their cars and not leaving valuables in their cars. The 1000 Islands Poker Run was held this past week-end. The city's marine unit was on the water for this event. There were about 100 of the high powered boats that docked in tunnel bay for the lunch break. There were hundreds of other boats in the area watching the event. Brockville Police Service report no incidents on the water during the event.

On the 31st of July 2008, members of the Brockville Police Service were able to identify that Sean Molyneaux was responsible for more than the three break and enters in Brockville as reported previously. Molyneaux will be charged with numerous counts of break and enter in the Brockville area. The exact number is yet to be determined. On the 31st of July 2008, a 22 year old male from Brockville was arrested for one count of break and enter and fraud under $5,000. He was released with several conditions and will appear in court on the 5thh of September 2008. Members of the Brockville police recovered a quantity of property from various locations within the city. The property is believed to be from the recent break and enters. Investigators are working at linking the property to the victim and will be notifying victims in the near future. Once the victims are identified they will be contacted in order to claim their belongings. The Brockville Police are also warning members of the public to ensure they lock their vehicles. It is also important to remove any items of value and their wallets or purses from unlocked vehicles. The Brockville Police Service investigated a theft of gas complaint on the 31st of July 2008. As a result, a stolen vehicle was identified and a short pursuit took place. The pursuit was terminated a short time after it commenced and the vehicle was last seen westbound on highway 401. At approximately 5:00 p.m. the stolen vehicle was located in Kingston and three people were arrested. A male from the Toronto area was identified as being responsible for the theft of gas in Brockville and will be charged with theft under $5,000. And numerous driving offences. The male is in custody in Kingston. The vehicle was stolen from the Durham area on the 30th of July 2008.

As a result of an investigation by the Brockville Police Service, Dr. Leonard Swanson of Brockville has been charged with one count of sexual assault. He will be appearing in court on the 22nd of August, 2008. Sean Molyneaux, 24 years, arrested and charged with forcible confinement, utter threats and break and enter, three counts. He is also wanted by Kingston and Ottawa Police Services. He has been held for bail.

The Brockville Police would like to inform the community of an internet scam that preys on recipients’ fears. Subjects receive an email indicating that the writer has been hired to kill the recipient by someone they know and continues with scare tactics, such as people have been following and monitoring the recipient for sometime and know everything about them and their families. The sender indicates that they feel sorry for the recipient and are willing to make a deal to spare their lives which involves paying the sender thousands of dollars in exchange for a tape showing who wanted them killed. There are many versions of this scam email however they all involve paying a sum of money to remain safe. Brockville Police acknowledge these emails can be extremely unnerving however we urge recipients not to respond to these emails as by doing so, indicates to the sender they have reached an active account. The Brockville Police Service is taking the unusual step of releasing information regarding a high risk offender who at one time indicated that he intended to reside in Brockville, Ontario, upon his release from the Kingston Penitentiary on the 15th of July, 2008. We are taking a pro-active approach to ensure the safety of the community. Leonard WATTS, 47 years of age, has previous convictions of sexual offences and violence. He is described as 5’11”, 180 lbs, brown eyes, brown hair, and is of Aboriginal descent. Brockville Police sought and the Court issued a Recognizance to Keep the Peace under the Criminal Code dated yesterday to protect the public. It contains 13 conditions Watts is required to abide by including: - not to possess or consume alcohol and any intoxicating substances or any drug except in accordance with a medical prescription. - not to enter any premises where the primary source of income is derived from the sale of alcohol. - not to associate with or be in the company of any female under the age of 18. - to return to and remain within his residence between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. - to present himself at the door of his residence to any police officer seeking to ensure compliance with any of the conditions of this order. The investigating officer is Detective Constable Nicky Henri.

During the week ending June 16th, 2008, members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 220 incidents. 26 Criminal Code charges were laid for various Criminal Code offences. 22 people were charged under the Liquor Licence Act and during this time period, a total of 46 Highway Traffic Act charges were laid for various infractions. The HEAT Team was working on Saturday, June 14th, resulting in 9 arrests under the Liquor Licence Act, 2 Highway Traffic Act charges, 1 charge under the Controlled Drug Substance Act and 1 Criminal Code of Canada. On June 16th at 2:40 a.m., officers attended to the men’s washroom at Centeen Park with reference to a fire. Brockville Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire. During the week ending May 19, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 221 incidents. Twenty-four Criminal Code charges were laid for various criminal code offences. Twenty-four people were charged under the Highway Traffic Act and four charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act. Officers also investigated 8 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. Officers are looking for the public's assistance in a serious assault that took place on Sunday, May 18th at approximately 02:55 a.m. in front of Pizza Pizza, 45 King Street West. The victim, a 25 year old male from Brockville, suffered serious head injuries and has been transferred to the Kingston General Hospital where his condition is serious. A 28 year old male from Brockville has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Brockville Police Service at 613-342-0127. Members of the R.I.D.E. team were working on Friday, May 16th, where a total of 125 vehicles were stopped resulting in 8 roadside screening device tests performed and we are glad to report no impaired drivers were arrested.

The Brockville Police Service has concluded the investigation in relation to the complaint of a sexual assault which occurred on the Brock Trail between Beecher Street and the Loeb grocery store on King Street on Sunday, May 4, 2008. This investigation has revealed that this sexual assault complaint has proved to have never occurred. Our investigation is continuing with reference to reporting a false allegation.

During the week ending May 12, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 264 incidents. Eight-teen Criminal Code charges were laid for various criminal code offences. Five arrests were made under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Ten people were charged under the Liquor Licence Act. During this time period 53 people were charged under the Highway Traffic Act for various infractions. Officers investigated 14 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. On May 9, 2008 at approximately 1:30 p.m. members of the Brockville Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police, as part of Project Islander, executed a drug warrant at 1327 Borden Crescent. Approximately 300 immature marihuana plants and 45 mature plants were seized with a street value of $100,000.00. Arrested and charged for production of a controlled substance was Steven Colpitts, 49 years, of Brockville. Colpitts was released and is scheduled to appear in court on June 13th. The arrest was without incident.

Brockville Police Service are investigating an attempted Robbery at the Quickie Store at 60 William Street, Brockville. Shortly after 4:00 am on May 6, 2008, a lone male entered the store armed with a knife and demanded money. The suspect quickly fled without getting any money. The suspect is described as wearing a white vest with black spots. He was described as a white male about 20 years old, 5'6"-5"9", 170 pounds. Weekly Police Report
On May 3, 2008, at 1:55 am, a 33 year old male was located on Court House Avenue. The male had injuries and police are investigating to determine the source of the injuries. The man was taken to Brockville General Hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Ottawa. If anyone witnessed an incident in the downtown area around this time please contact the Brockville Police Service at 613-342-0127. Over the course of the week ending May 5, 2008, members of the Brockville Police Service attended to 318 calls for service. There were 20 charges laid under the Criminal Code. There were several persons arrested and charged for being intoxicated in a public place and for causing a disturbance. Others were charged with offences related to breaching court orders and another for a domestic assault. There were 14 traffic accidents reported within the City. Twenty-six charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act. Brockville Police will be commencing the HEAT patrols which will target calming rowdinss in the downtown area. This patrol will be starting very soon and there will be zero tolerance for crime, noise, and liquor infractions.

On the 4th of May, 2008, at approximately 6:30 p.m. a 26 year old female was walking on the bike path in the area of Beecher Street when she was approached and assaulted by two unidentified males. The first male is described as being just under 6 foot, stocky build, light brown hair, wearing dark grey jogging pants, approximately late 20s / early 30s. The second male is described as being approximately 6 foot, possibly over 200 pounds, shaggy hair, wearing dark colour shorts and possibly dirty white sneakers. Brockville Police are still investigating the occurrence at this time and are asking any members of the public who were in the area of the bike path between Beecher Street and LOEB / IGA at the time to contact the police at 613-342-0127. Weekly Police Report
During the week ending April 28, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 246 incidents. Fifteen Criminal Code charges were laid for various criminal code offences. Forty-eight Highway Traffic Act charges were also laid during this time period. Officers investigated 6 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. During this week we investigated several theft complaints of people having items stolen from vehicles. People are reminded to remove your items from your vehicle and ensure your vehicle is locked.

Press Release
The Brockville Police Service would like all motorists to watch out for bicycles this spring. Please yield right of way and avoid cyclists when possible. We ask all cyclists to: - Ride with traffic on the right hand side. - Keep your eyes on the road and traffic. - Use “shoulder checks” and hand signals to let others know what you intend to do. - Please ride in single file and never carry a passenger on your bike. - Wear light coloured clothing and have a working headlight and red light on the rear of your bicycle. It’s the law for children 16 and under to wear approved CSA helmets. We encourage everyone who rides their bike to wear a helmet. Parents: practice safe bicycling with your children! Effective immediately the Brockville Police Service will only issue bicycle licences at their 2269 Parkedale Avenue location on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Weekly Police Report
During the week ending March 31, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 185 incidents. Twenty-four Criminal Code charges were laid for various criminal code offences. Thirty-two charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act. Six charges were laid under the Liquor Licence Act. 9 motor vehicle collisions were investigated with no serious injuries reported. On March 28, 2008 at 10:10 p.m. three(3) males were observed attempting to break open cash boxes at the Pearl Street Laundry. Two males were inside while the third male remained outside as a lookout. Description: #1 - male, early 20's, wearing a green coat, hoodie and white running shoes. #2 - male, early 20's, wearing a horizontal striped shirt, hoodie and work boots. On March 29, 2008 at 7:20 a.m. officers attended to the parking lot of the Brockville General Hospital where the passenger window of a vehicle was smashed in and a purse stolen. The purse was recovered at Commonwealth School with items missing. On March 29, 2008 at 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported stolen from the parking lot at the Brockville General Hospital. The jeep was black in colour and was licenced with Ontario marker AXDE519. The same vehicle was reported recovered in the Prescott area. It had been destroyed by fire. Cst. Mastin of the Brockville Police is investigating the theft. The parking lot where the car was parked is monitored by video. As a result of the video it has been determined that the theft occurred around 2:15 a.m. and there are six suspects who left in the vehicle. The video is currently being analyzed to identify the suspects. The investigation is continuing. The Brockville Police are currently investigating several complaints by persons responding to Help Wanted ads in the local media and over the internet. The ads are similar to: “Due to our expansion program, we are currently looking for part-time work from home. Account Manager and Sales Representatives. It pays $450/week plus benefits. Please contact us for more details. Requirements – should be a computer literate. Must have access to the Internet and age 19 years and above. Must also be efficient and dedicated. If you are interested and need more information, contact Mark Lambert, e-mail m_lam01@yahoo.com.” When the perspective employee responds to this ad they are asked to receive payments from the company’s perspective clients. They receive a cheque by mail and are asked to cash it through their personal bank account and are told to deduct 10% of the value of the cheque for their payment. The cheques are later found to be counterfeit and the victim is out the entire amount of the cheque. The company may be identified as Freeman Textiles of London, England. Return email addresses include m_lam01@yahoo.com and textilesltd@gmail.com. Brockville Police are urging citizens not to respond to these ads. Weekly Police Report
During the week ending March 25th , 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 212 incidents. Twelve Criminal Code charges were laid for various criminal code offences. Thirty-six charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act and 5 charges under the Liquor Licence Act. Officers investigated 12 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. On the 21st of March, 2008 at 12:10 a.m., officers attempted to stop a motor vehicle on King Street west for a traffic violation. After a brief pursuit, the 1992 Dodge Caravan was stopped at the north end of Cedar Street, where an adult male passenger was apprehended. The driver fled the area, but was located and arrested a short time later on Perth Street. Charged with theft over $5000, failing to stop for police and several Highway Traffic Act offences is Harvey Markell, 28 years, of no fixed address. On the 24th of March, 2008 at 1:49 a.m., officers attend the OLCO gas bar located at 2462 Parkedale Avenue, in response to an alarm. Entry was gained to the building through the front door which was smashed. A large quantity of cigarettes and some batteries were taken. Two young offenders have been arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and a quantity of cigarettes recovered. The break & enter is still under investigation. On the 25th of March, 2008 at 7:12 a.m., officers attended the intersection of Pearl Street West and William Street, in relation to a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle. A 14 year old female was transported to Brockville General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and a 49 year old female was charged with failing to yield to a pedesrtrian under the Highway Traffic Act.

Weekly Police Report
During the week ending March 17, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 207 incidents. Twenty-two Criminal Code charges were laid for various criminal code offences. Forty-three people were charged under the Highway Traffic Act. Officers investigated 21 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. On March 15, 2008 at 12:35 a.m. officers attended to a report of a male person in the area of a residence on North Augusta Road and upon seeing vehicles he would hide in the bush area. K-9 handler, Constable Shawn Borgford, and K-9, Trax, attended the area where they arrested and charged a 35 year old Brockville male person with criminal harassment and prowl by night. He will appear in court at a later date. On March 16, 2008 at 3:55 a.m. officers attended to an alarm at Ritchie's Wholesale, 25 King Street West, where a rear window was broken. No entry was gained. Investigation continuing. Brockville Police are investigating the report of a stolen vehicle from 89 King Street west on March 16, 2008. The vehicle is described as a 2005 GMC Envoy, red in colour, bearing Ontario licence 14FS06 with a ski rack on roof. Forty-two Highway Traffic Act charges were laid and officers investigated a total of 18 motor vehicle collisions with no serious inuries reported. Officers are presently investigating a broken window at the Park Avenue Salon at 332 Park Street. It would appear no entry was gained.

During the week ending February 25, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 201 incidents. Fifteen Criminal Code charges were laid during this time period. Fifty people were charged under the Highway Traffic Act for various infractions. Officers investigated 13 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. On February 22nd at 10:50 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Perth Street as a result of the traffic stop, 2 females, 15 and 17 years, as well as two 19 year old males were arrested and charged with 2 counts of possession for the purpose. Approximately 91 grams of hash and 8 grams of cocaine were seized. Both males have been held for a bail hearing this date and the 2 females have been released for a future court date.

Weekly Police Report
During the week ending February 18, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 174 incidents. Thirteen Criminal Code charges were laid. Twenty-six persons were charged under the Highway Traffic Act. Officers are presently investigating a break-in to the Brockberry Café on King Street East, reported to police on February 16, 2008. A small window on the east side of the business was entered and a quantity of liquor was stolen. Also an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. On February 18, 2008 at approximately 11:30 a.m. a drug warrant was executed at apartments 5 and 6 at 226 King Street West where approximately 10 grams of cocaine was located for a street value of $1,000.00. Arrested and charged for possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine are Blaine Doner, 28 years and Albert Emans, 39 years, both of Brockville. Doner is appearing at a bail hearing on February 19 and Emans is scheduled to appear in court on March 28th. Both arrested without incident.

The Brockville Police Service is investigating 2 thefts from Zellers and Wal-Mart during the past 2 weeks. On January 29, 2008, officers attended to Wal-Mart on Parkedale Avenue with reference to a theft complaint. Two people, a male and a female entered the automotive section of the store where they were observed remove a car stereo, put it under her coat and left the store through another exit and fled the area. Value of the car stereo is $230.00. On February 3, 2008 officers attended to Zellers at 125 Stewart Blvd. with reference to a theft complaint. A male and a female were observed running from the store carrying multiple items. They were apprehended by the loss prevention officer from the store and the male threw the items to the ground and took off running. The loss prevention officer took pursuit where he encountered the female who also threw her items to the ground. While the officer was attempting to retrieve the items from the ground the female started the vehicle and drove away narrowly missing the officer. Vehicle is described as an older model 4-door dark purple cavalier. Descriptors of the two subjects are as follows: Female - approximately 45 years old, 5'7", thin build, dirty blonde hair. She was wearing black track pants with vertical white lines down the outsides of the legs, a black Ottawa Senators t-shirt under a black windbreaker. Male - approximately 40 years of age, 5'9" or 5'10", with longer brown hair, thin build, with a hint of facial hair. He was wearing blue jean overalls under a black and blue hooded winter coat. Weekly Police Report
During the week ending February 4, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 186 incidents. Fifteen Criminal Code charges were laid during this time period which included 2 people arrested and charged with impaired driving. Fifty people were charged for various infractions under the Highway Traffic Act. Officers investigated 16 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. On February 2, 2008 at approximately 10:25 p.m. a vehicle eastbound on Highway 401 and approaching the Stewart Blvd. Overpass had an object hit the windshield of her vehicle which shattered the glass. Unknown if ice had fallen or if an object was thrown from the overpass. Nothing was found at the scene and no serious injuries were reported. Brockville Police continue to investigate the theft of coins from laundromats and apartment complexes. On February 3, 2008, police investigated a theft of coins from 55 Stewart Blvd. apartment laundromat. Superintendents and tenants are advised to call police if they see suspicious people in the laundromat.

The internet provides criminals from around the world access to your information if you are not careful. As people become more aware of internet safety, criminals respond with more sophisticated scams. Some simple tips: o If you do not know the person sending the message, erase it. During the week ending January 28, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 170 incidents. Eighteen Criminal Code charges were laid for various criminal code offences. Thirty-nine Highway Traffic Act charges were laid during this time period. Officers investigated 19 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. During the past 2 - 3 weeks several thefts have occurred from laundromats in the city. The thefts usually ocuur by breaking the change dispenser and removing whatever monies may be there. Warning to Residents: Officers issued 71 winter by-law tickets over the weekend and will continue to enforce the by-law until March. No vehicles are to be left on city owned streets overnight.

Officers investigated 7 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. The investigation into the accidental discharge of a Brockville Police firearm at 36 Abbott Street on January 5, 2008 at approximately 1:25 a.m. has been completed. • the discharge of a Brockville Police Service firearm at 36 Abbott Street is ruled as accidental and no training or disciplinary issues were identified. • the Bushmaster .223 firearm that was involved in this incident will remain out of service until such time as we can have it examined and declared functionally safe. • two officers will be assigned to review all of our policies relating to the Emergency Response Team and report in writing as to any recommended changes. • the officer will remain a valuable member of the Emergency Response Team of the Brockville Police Service. We are currently investigating a home invasion on Delhi Street on January 14th at 5:55 p.m. Two(2) unknown males; 1 non-white and 1 white, both approximately 6 feet in height, mid 30's, entered the residence after being allowed in by the lone female occupant. They demanded money and an undisclosed amount of money was handed to them. No injuries were sustained. Description: #1 - non-white, 6 ft., mid 30's, wearing black leather gloves and 3/4 length jacket. #2 - white, 6 ft, mid 30's, wearing a dark grey hooded sweatshirt. Both clean shaven. On the 5th of January, 2007 at approximately 01:25 hours members of Project Islander as well as the Emergency Response Team members executed a drug warrant at 36 Abbott Street. As a result of this warrant, Cst. Heffernan was accidently shot by another member of the Emergency Eesponse Team where he received minor injuries. Cst. Heffernan was transported to Brockville General Hospital where he was treated and released. The Brockville Police Service is currently investigating the incident. As a result of the drug warrant, 3 people were arrested. Seized was a quantity of cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia.

During the week ending January 3, 2008 members of the Brockville Police Service attended to a total of 228 incidents. Twenty-three Criminal Code charges were laid during this time period. Officers investigated 23 motor vehicle collisions with no serious injuries reported. On December 29, 2007 at 10:13 p.m. Brockville Police attended to King Street and Apple Street where an assault took place inside 2-4-1 Pizza. When the victim was leaving the business and crossing the street the accused involved in the assault drove his vehicle into the victim pinning him against a building. The accused then fled the scene in the vehicle. The victim was treated at the Brockville General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Arrested and charged with aggravated assault, assault, fail to remain, breach of probation and utter threats is William Durant, 23 years old of Brockville. He is being held in custody. On December 31, 2007 at approximately 1:45 a.m. two male suspects stole the cash box of the visitors parking lot pay machine at the Brockville General Hospital. One male suspect was wearing a dark green jacket. The second male suspect had on a dark blue jacket with a light blue hood and light blue sleeves. Both suspects are believed to be in their twenties.
