- Do not hang lingerie outdoors.
- Make sure your answering machine message does not indicate that you are home alone.
- Keep records of valuables and property (a) brands; (b) serial and model numbers; and c) identifying features.
- Dead bolt locks are more secure.
- Use lexan glass.
- Install carbon monoxide and smoke detectors.
Parents: Children are the building blocks for tomorrow's society. We must protect them. Abuse of children is more likely by someone known to them. Foster a positive relationship with them so that they won't be afraid to discuss problems and issues with you. Discuss with them these helpful reminders:
- Do not permit anyone to touch areas of their body a swimsuit wouldn't cover.
- To tell you where they are at all times.
- Tell them where they can reach you at all times.
- To identify signs and logos of organizations dedicated to helping.
- If at home alone not to answer the door, or if on the phone, not to say they are alone.
- Don't approach or enter a stranger's vehicle, and not to hitch hike.
- Call 911 in an emergency for police, fire or ambulance.
Motor vehicles are an integral part in our society. These suggestions will help protect you and make your vehicle safer:
