Brockville: City of the 1000 Islands
Ontario's 1st World Health Organization "Designated Safe Community"
Brockville is proud of its sound corporate management, a vibrant commercial and business sector and a wide range of recreational, cultural and social amenities. Our citizens support for quality of life is an important and vital component of everyday life. Brockville's strategic location on the 401 Highway is at the geographic centre of Canada, the home to eight "Fortune 500" corporations.
The Brockville Police Service Headquarters is situated at 2269 Parkedale Avenue. This modern police facility is state of the art and is the nerve centre for our 41 police officers and 22 civilian support staff, serving a city population of 22,000, with a catchment area of more than 80,000.
Brockville Police provide a pro-active community policing service consisting of front line patrol, criminal investigation, emergency response, community safety, forensic identification, K-9, emergency 911 communications, marine patrol and support services, supported through a continuous learning and improvement model. Our police fleet consists of 14 vehicles and a fully equipped 22 foot police patrol boat. Our police service is equipped with a digitized, encrypted communication system, a "CRISYS" automatic location computerized dispatch system and the new Integrated Justice Niche Records Management System, complemented with Intergraph Computer Aided Dispatch. We are corporately recognized by our distinctive white vehicles with the stylized Brockville Police logo.
Brockville is Ontario's first World Health Organization designated "Safe Community", the fourth Designated Safe Community in North America, and the 58th globally. Through sustaining partnerships with more than 86 organizations we share a vision of becoming the safest city in Canada in which to live, learn, work and play. We focus on our children. While youth may only represent 20% of our population, they are 100% of our future. Youth continually need guidance and reinforcement so that they can continue to build upon community values, pride and a life style full of hope and promise. We also priorize proactive programs which support women, children, and seniors, as well as citizens and visitors who are disabled.

The Brockville Police Services Board provides governance and wise counsel. Board members, consist of five persons, three appointed by City Council and two appointed by the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, who meet monthly in public meetings to review the performance and activities of the Police Service and provide policy direction consistent with our approved Business Plan. Read our Mission Statement for further information on the Brockville Police Services Board.
The Brockville Police Service is committed to the goals, policies and laws we are sworn to uphold, our business plan, the Provincial Adequacy Standards and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. While the global economy challenges every government organization to provide more with less, we are confident that Brockville will remain a relatively safe community. Community safety is Priority 1 in keeping with our motto "Partners for a Safe & Healthy Community".
