Deputy Chief Lee MacArthur's Biography
Deputy Chief MacArthur's 23 year career has been with the Brockville Police Service. Over that time, he has held numerous positions within the Brockville Police Service, including Detective Sergeant in charge of Criminal Investigations as well as being the first Intelligence Officer within the City of Brockville.
Deputy Chief MacArthur is currently overseeing Administration Services, Support Services and Court Services. Deputy Chief MacArthur was previously in charge of the Investigation Services, and has been in that position for the previous six years. He continues to be a part of the Chief's Senior Management Team.
Lee holds a Bachelor's Degree as well as being a graduate of numerous courses from the Ontario Police College and the Canadian Police College. He also holds a Police Management Certificate in General Police Studies as well as Advanced Police Studies from the University of Western Ontario.
In June of (2002), Deputy Chief MacArthur graduated from the F.B.I. National Academy, Quantico, Virginia, in the 209th Session. In September, (2004), Deputy Chief MacArthur completed the LEEDA Program (Law Enforcement Executive Development Association) with the F.B.I and holds a Police Leadership Program Certificate from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Business Management (2006). In July (2006) Deputy Chief MacArthur received a certificate in International Terrorism from the FBI National Academy Associates.
Deputy Chief MacArthur is the recipient of the Canadian Bankers Law Enforcement Award, which he received in (1991) for the apprehension of a bank robbery suspect within the City of Brockville. In March (2005) Deputy Chief MacArthur received The Police Exemplary Medal from the Governor General of Canada.
Deputy Chief MacArthur has been involved with a variety of committees within the City of Brockville, including being the chair of the VCARS Program (Victim Crisis and Referral Service), Interval House board of directors, the CAS Protocol Committee, the Victim services Committee, and Domestic Violence Committee. He has also presented a number of community safety and crime prevention symposiums to senior citizens and other community groups throughout the City of Brockville.
Lee is married with two children, and 4 stepchildren.
